Miami Swim Week 2019 (She Retreats)

MIAMI, 2019

For years, clothes have served as a symbolic representation of a particular quality or concept within society. Our goal has always been to channel the right messages to society through creativity and the movements we champion through the Eido Swimwear Wonder Woman Initiative. Eido swimwear being constructed for the woman who is intrinsically aware of who she is, it is of our understanding that this awareness springs from deep within the soul first.

Our theme for summer 2019 was "She Retreats" as it was important for us to share with our community our idea on how the grit and survivor mindset of the Eido Wonder Woman is birthed. Beyond the fashion, the event was an action-call for our community to retreat to the voice and power within and to reconnect with internal beauty.

Honorees, Jennifer Nicole Lee and Carla Joseph shared their stories of triumph.
As the culture is for our annual Miami Swim Week shows in honor of female survivors and women thriving in business, wellness and philanthropy within our community, we brought together four women from the region. At this event, with the support of Miami Beach Commissioner Michael C. Gongora, the brand honored burn survivor Ana Gonzalez. In 1993, Ana Gonzalez suffered 3rd degree burns in an accident with gasoline from a propane portable oven. She was placed in an induced coma for 2 weeks and was given very little chance of survival. Today, Ana is a graduate of the University of South Florida, she lives with courage and has been able to thrive irrespective of bullying she has experienced throughout the years. We also honored Transformational Coach Jennifer Nicole Lee, Domestic Violence survivor Amanda Chattic, and Wellness Entrepreneur Carla Joseph at this event with Wonder Woman Initiative Awards.

Guests were inspired, motivated, and entertained. Music was provided by DJ Red, guests received gifts courtesy of Grind Diva boutique, Greek Goddess Lashes, Stepping-Stone Beauty, Nina's B n' B, books by Jennifer Nicole Lee, Vital Hydration, and refreshments by Suja Juice. At the end of the day, many guests were able to encounter positive shifts through the testimonies of survivors. Dr. Dele Gomih opened the show with an inspirational dance routine, as models followed down the runway. A story-telling session with each honoree was led by Speaker and Host Tico Armand as each woman poured out her heart in front of an audience. Each honoree stunned in complimentary resort wear pieces from the season's collection courtesy of Eido Swimwear alongside fashion models who were beautifully transformed up by Brian C. Hawkins's team at BCH Artistry and Sutra Beauty. Models and Honorees were styled by Celebrity Stylist, Mattine Guillaume, in swim and resort wear pieces by Eido Swimwear, Jewelry was provided by Ethnic Ears Store, and Purses by The Purse Lady. We want to remind everyone that we are all in this together, and we would continue to increase awareness and champion the causes of sheroes within our communities as our collective journeys unfold.
